3' x 5' Liberian Flag 🇱🇷 with grommets and double-stitched edges to reduce fraying.

✍️ The Design: Adopted on the 24th of August, 1847, the Liberian flag consists of 11 red and white stripes with a lone white star on a square blue canton.

Liberia’s flag may look a lot like the U.S. flag, and there’s a reason for that! Founded by freed American slaves in the 1800s, Liberia even takes its name from liberty.

🔴⚪ The 11 stripes honor the 11 signers of Liberia’s Declaration of Independence.
⭐ The white star symbolizes the freedom these ex-slaves gained.
🔵 The blue square represents the African continent.

Liberia runs one of the biggest "flags of convenience" programs—meaning foreign ships register under Liberia’s flag to dodge taxes and regulations. With around 1,600 ships flying Liberia’s colors, this system is a major source of revenue for the country.
